At Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Sunday, the Customs officials recovered four gold bars, each valued at approximately two crores, from a toilet of an international flight, bringing the total amount recovered to approximately three crores. It is estimated that the rectangular gold bars will cost about 1.95 crores.
New Delhi, India: At Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Sunday, the Customs officials recovered four gold bars, each valued at approximately two crores, from a toilet of an international flight, bringing the total amount recovered to approximately three crores.

According to the officials, based on inputs from Customs officers at IGI Airport, an aircraft used for international flights was rummaged upon completion of its subsequent domestic trips at Terminal 2 of IGI Airport, New Delhi, based on inputs received and further developed by Customs officers.
In the process of rummaging through the flight, the customs officers discovered a gray pouch that was attached to the sink in the washroom by the use of adhesive tape.
Four rectangular gold bars weighing a total of around 3969 grams were contained in the gray pouch.
An official statement has announced that the rectangular gold bars are estimated to cost ₹ 1,95,72,400 in total.
According to the statement, the gold that has been recovered along with the packing material has been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962, and further investigations are being conducted.
