On February 24, at least five people lost their lives when their vehicle lost control and fell into a ditch on the side of the road in Balipara, in the Sontipur district of Assam.

It has been reported by reliable sources that they were travelling to Tezpur when the incident occurred.

In spite of the fact that the identities of the victims have yet to be determined, it has been confirmed that Deepen Bora was one of the identified victims among them.

In a tragic accident on National Highway 17 in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district earlier in January this year, a Tata dumper collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the road under the police station of Boko, resulting in at least two people being killed.

In the early hours of January 24, a dumper with the vehicle registration number of Assam which is AS01 NC 9882, collided with a truck bearing registration number AS01 JC 3904.

The sand-laden Tata Dumper, bound for Guwahati, had parked by the side of the road so that it could rest, but in the meantime, there was a collision between the Tata Dumper bound for Goalpara and the other truck,” said Chandan Sharma, a resident of Goalpara.

As a matter of fact, Sharma stated in his interview that the incident occurred solely because the truck bound for Guwahati was trying to overtake the other Tata Dumper that was parked nearby at the time.

He immediately called the police after the incident, and the Boko Police responded within a short period of time. In spite of this, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Boko has been responding to the accident in the recent times. ”But recently, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Boko has been responding to the accident,” he said.

According to the police sources, the truck driver has been identified as Bhadreswar Patgiri from Dudhnai in Goalpara district, while the driver of the Tata Dumper from Bamunigaon in Kamrup district has been identified as Krishna Das.
